Andrew Jackson

“Any man worth his salt will stick up for what he believes right, but it takes a slightly better man to acknowledge instantly and without reservation that he is in error.”

In today’s culture, we are encouraged to boldly (and sometimes loudly) proclaim when we are right; when we are wrong, if we even acknowledge it, we try to keep everyone from finding out.  In some ways, I guess that’s human nature, but this impedes our growth and can keep others from growing as well.  Ask yourself this:  Are you simply worth your salt, or are you worth more?
