“The truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable.”

No one wants to be miserable, so often we hide from the truth of certain situations.  This may make us feel better, but it just delays the inevitable misery.  In several ways, our country faces moments of truth.  If we take those moments head on, we will face some misery, but in the long run we will remain free.
